Huntingdonshire U15s V Bedfordshire U 15s

Huntingdonshire U15s V Bedfordshire U 15s

Nassington Cricket Club 15th July 2009

Huntingdonshire won the toss and decided to bat and for once they got off to a solid start with the openers Dan Robinson (33) and Rob Lowin (21) putting on 60 for the first wicket. We looked good at lunch at 104 for 3. Unfortunately the same old same old we lost a wicket immediately after lunch and with two poor run outs we managed to loose the last 7 wickets for 57 runs All our batsmen seemed to get starts but again none converted. Hunts were bowled out for 161 in the 50th over.

With a below par score Hunts needed a good start with the ball. Joe Dawborn provided the catalyst almost taking a hat-rick in his second over, at 17 for 2 Hunts looked in control, the Beds opening batsman (A Shah) being the only stumbling block as he moved to a very quick 51 out of a team total of 68. Hunts had to get him out if they were to stand a chance of winning. Again it was ‘Prime Time’ Jack getting Shah caught at slip by Dan Malem, with Shah out of the way the wickets started tumbling Prime taking 4 for 19 in 11 overs leaving Joe Dawborn to clean up the tail, Joe finishing with figures of 3 for 14 to give Hunts a deserved win.
