Huntingdonshire U15s V Cambridgeshire U15s
St Ives Cricket Club 31st May 2009
(Cup 50 overs per side)
Outclassed and outplayed on a flat St Ives track, Hunts were always behind the black ball after failing to post a decent total after winning the toss and electing to bat on a hot sunny day. Hunts got off to the worst possible start loosing two early wickets in the first 4 overs. At 8 for 2 Billy Curtis and Daniel Bandaranaike set about rebuilding the innings against some good tight bowling. Progress was slow as Hunts. only managed to get the score passed the hundred mark in the 35th over. The innings was given some impetus from the late order with Rob Lowin (24) and an unbroken last wicket stand of 34 from James Trafford (11) and Jack Prime (20). Hunts finished on 177 for 9 in their 50 over with Daniel Bandaranaike (39) top scoring.
